Scottish Athletics National Combined Events Championship - 10th July 2022 - Grangemouth

Posted by Lauren Cruickshank on 22 July 2022

The day started with the High Jump at 10am.  This wasn't the favourite event for either of them, but nevertheless, they kept those smiles on and tried their best. They placed 9th and 10th.

This was followed by the hurdles, where both girls picked up a large amout of points with their new PBs. They placed 3rd and 6th.

Next event was the long jump. Both enjoyed this event and picked up some good points, placing 4th and 8th.

After this was the Shot Put in which both achieved new PBs.  They placed 5th and 8th.

The last event was the 800m, where the girls gave everything. They placed 4th and 6th.

They finished the day with Gemma coming 6th overall (1852 points) and Jenna placing 8th (1619 points). Jenna is in her first year of U13 competing so this is a wonderful achievement.

The competition was tough.  It was a wonderful introduction into the world of multi-eventing and both said they would do it all over again.  Well done girls.
