Scottish Sec. Schools National Championships - Track and Field - Grangemouth - 9th and 10th June 2023

Fourteen Elgin Athletes proudly competed for their respective schools in the Scottish Secondary Schools National Championships on the 9th and 10th of June in Grangemouth.  There were 39 performances, 4 club records, 11 PBs, 6 Gold Medals, 3 Silver Medals, 2 Bronze Medals and 1 Championship Best Performance.

This is an enormous competition, with Secondary Schools represented from all over Scotland. 

Representing Elgin High School:

U17W

Georgia competed in Long Jump and also in Shot Put, placing in the top 15 for each event. 

Kathryn competed in 100m, finishing 8th in her heat.  She achieved a new PB in High Jump of 1.50m to place 4th overall.

Lexi competed in 80mH - finishing 3rd in her heat and 7th overall.  In Long Jump Lexi placed 6th with a jump of 5.18m and in Triple Jump she placed 4th with a jump of 10m 74cm.

Holly competed in 75mH, finishing first to take GOLD.  Not only that she received a cup for the Best Female Hurdler and set a new Scottish Schools Record of 11.25 (also a new PB and a new EAAC Club Record).  She also competed in Long Jump and finished first to take another GOLD with a new PB of 5m48cm (also a new EAAC Club Record).

U17M

Ruaridh competed in 200m, placing 6th in his heat.  He also competed in 400m, placing 6th in his heat. He also competed in Javelin, placing 6th overall with a throw of 29.04.

U13G

Jenna competed in 70mH, finishing first to take GOLD with a new PB.  She also competed in Long Jump, finishing second to take SILVER and a new PB of 4m12cm.

 

Representing Elgin Academy:

U17W

Ava competed in 100m, finishing 3rd in her heat and 4th in the Semi Final. She also competed in200m, finishing 4th in her heat, 4th in the Semi Final and 8th in the Final.

Anna competed in Long Jump, winning GOLD with a jump of 5.42 (a new PB).  She also competed in Triple Jump, winning SILVER with a jump of 11.34 (a new PB and a new Club Record).

Lauren competed in 200m, finishing second in her heat, 2nd in the Semi Final and 5th in the Final.  She also competed in 300m, finishing 1st in her heat, and 3rd in the Final to win BRONZE.

U13B

Quentin competed in 100m, finishing in 4th place.  He also competed in Shot Put and won GOLD with  a throw of 7.98m (a new PB).

 

Representing Keith Grammar School:

Tom competed in 400m, finishing 6th in his heat, with a new PB.  He also competed in 110mH, finishing first to win GOLD.  He also competed in 400mH, finishing second to take SILVER, this was also a Club Record.

 

Representing Nairn Academy:

Archie competed in Long Jump, placing 6th overall.  He also competed in Javelin, finishing in the top 15.

 

Representing Lossiemouth High School:

Andrew competed in 200m, finishing 7th in his heat.  He also competed in Long Jump placing 8th overall.  He also competed in Triple Jump, achieving a new PB to win BRONZE with a jump of 11.86.

 

Representing Buckie High School:

Roy competed in 800m, finishing 4th in his heat and then 6th in the final.

 

Well done to all of you, your schools must be very proud of these results!
