Club Competitions
There are lots of different competitions you can take part in as an EAAC member. To compete at regional and national levels, you must also be registered with Scottish Athletics and have a designated Scottish Athletics (SA) number. Please note this list is not exhaustive.
Summer Season
- EAAC Club Championships - held at the end of the summer season for our members, compete to become Club Champion! You do not need to be a registered member of Scottish Athletics to compete.
- Open Graded's - these events are relaxed and gives the opportunity to try out new events.
- Youth Development League - Open to U13 and U15's and the club enters you as part of Team North (with Ross County AC and Moray Road Runners). There are 3 qualifying meets to build points to qualify for the Scottish Final.
- RAM League - There are 3 league meets in Inverness against other North clubs. Each age group tallies up their points to qualify for a place in the final against other clubs across Scotland. EAAC enters athletes for this.
- North District Championships - Here you can compete against other athletes from the North. Medals are available at these events.
- Scottish Age Group Championships - Held near the end of the summer season, you compete against your age groups to become Scottish Champion.
Winter Season
Typically the off-season, there are fewer competitions during winter. Considered the indoor season, there are typically fewer events you are able to enter with events such as javelin, long hurdles, steeplechase and hammer being unavailable. Available events may differ between competitions, due to some venues not able to facilitate them.
- North District Cross Country - Race in the Cross Country League and Championships, open to all age groups.
- Open Graded's - Typically the off-season, there are a few Open Graded Indoor events available to enter.
- Scottish Age Group Championships - Held near the end of the winter season, compete indoors against your age group to become Scottish Champion.
Scottish Schools
There are a few Scottish School events throughout the year, but these are the responsibility of your school to enter. Available to anyone of high school age (approx. 12-18), you will compete in your school kits. For more details, please visit Scottish Schools Athletic Association.
