North Area Trophy - Track and Field - Inverness - 16th and 17th September 2023

Twenty-five Elgin athletes competed over the two days of the North Area Trophy in Inverness on the 16th and 17th of September.  This well attended competition saw Track events take place on Saturday and Field events take place on Sunday.

Elgin athletes took home 21 Gold, 14 Silver and 9 Bronze over both days. 

 

U11G

Erin was our only competitior in this age group but she did everyone proud! She took home two Golds for Long Jump and Shot Put, with a PB in each event too. She also competed in 100m, achieving a new PB and 200m.

 

U13G

Lyra, from Knockando,  entered her first competition in an Elgin vest, setting a new PB in 200m.

Rowan, also of Knockando, continued her amazing run of always getting a new PB in every event at every competition she attends! Rowan competed in 100m, 200m, 70mH, High Jump, Shot Put and Discus Throw.  She brought home a Silver Medal for Shot Put and a Gold for Discus Throw. 

Jenna achieved a new PB in 100m.  She also competed in 200m and 70mH on the track day, taking home Gold for 70mH.  On Day 2, Jenna brought home a silver for Long Jump and Gold for Shot Put. 

 

U15G

Maddison, who runs for Elgin as her second claim club, also achieved new PBs in each of her four events. She competed in 100m, 300m, High Jump and Shot Put.

Ruby competed in three events on track day: 100m, 200m and 300m.  She set a new PB in 300m in a very close finish.

Sylvie competed on the Field day in Shot Put and Discus, achieving new PBs in each event. 

Gemma competed in 300mH and 75mH on track day.  Her first time at 300mH saw her win Silver (setting a new PB) and she also won Bronze in 75mH. On Field day Gemma competed in High Jump and Triple Jump.  She won Bronze in High Jump.

Lillia competed well in 200m on Saturday.

Holly had a fantastic weekend to round off a fantastic year as an U15G.  She competed in five events and took home Gold in each of them: Triple Jump, Shot Put, 100m, 200m and 75mH.  She achieved new PBs in 100m and 200m and a SB in Triple Jump.  She also achieved Championship Best Performances in 100m, 200m and 75mH. 

U17W

Anna competed in 200m on Saturday and High Jump on Sunday.  She took home Gold for High Jump and achieved a Championship Best Performance.

Kathryn competed in High Jump on Sunday setting a new PB and winning Silver.

Lexi competed in 100m, 200m and 80mH.  She set a new PB in 100m and 200m.  She won Gold and a Championship Best Performance in 80mH. On Field Day, Lexi competed in High Jump, placing third to take Bronze and equalling her PB.  She placed first in Triple Jump to win Gold. 

Ava had a great day on the Track, coming second to take Silver in 100m and 200m (with a new PB in 200m). On the Field Day her success continued with Silver Medals for Shot Put and Hammer as well as Gold for Javelin.  

Iris returned to competing to take home Bronze for 80mH with a new PB.  She also achieved a new PB in 100m. 

Lauren had a great day on the Track.  She won Bronze in 100m, Gold in 300m and Gold in 200m (with PBs in 100m and 300m).

Georgia competed in Discus and took home a Bronze medal.

 

U13B

Donald competed on the track day.  He was first in 100m, winnning Gold and second in 800m, winning Silver.

Tony attended his first competition, competing really well and setting new PBs in 100m, 200m and 800m.

Quentin competed successfully on the Field Day.  He came 3rd in Long Jump to take bronze. He came second in both Javelin and Shot Putt to take Silver in both. He set new PBs in all events.

Dougal set a new PB in High Jump.

U15B

Archie competed in Javelin to win Bronze.  He also competed in Triple Jump, placing fourth.

U17M

Ruaridh competed on both days.  On the track day he competed in 100m, 200m and 400m.  He achieved a new PB in 400m.  The next day Ruaridh competed in Long Jump and Javelin Throw.  He placed second in Javelin to take home Silver.

Andrew also competed on both days. He competed in 100m and 200m on the track day. On the Field day he competed in High Jump, Long Jump and Triple Jump. achieved a great new PB in Triple Jump to take home Gold.  His Triple Jump performace was a Championship Best Performance. He finished third in Long Jump to win Bronze.

U20M

Tom also took part in both days. On the track he competed in 400m, 110m Hurdles and 400m Hurdles.  He took Gold in both Hurdles events, with both being Championship Best Performances.  On the Field day, Tom competed in High Jump and placed second to take home a Silver medal.
