Volunteer with EAAC
EAAC is solely run by volunteers, with no limits to what the club needs. We look for volunteers for coaching, officiating, maintenance, Board membership, bus drivers, and fundraising to name but a few. To find out more about volunteering with EAAC and what you can do to help, please email info.elginaac@gmail.com.
Coaching
Our coaches are the backbone of EAAC and are important to keep EAAC up-and-running. With our numbers increasing we are always looking out for new helpers. If you would like to help out, then come along to our sessions and we will get you involved.
No prior training or involvement in athletics is required,
If you are interested in going through the Scottish Athletics Coaching Pathway we can help you with that. We ask you to pay half the cost of the course up-front, then after 6 months service with us we will refund your half of the cost. Some subsidies are available.
- A PVG is required to work with children and vulnerable adults. Our Welfare Officer will assist with the completion of the paperwork.
For further enquiries, please email coaching.elginaac@gmail.com.

Officiating
There are multiple routes to officiating at a Scottish Athletics event. Though you can volunteer at athletics events without a qualification, the first step is to complete a Scottish Athletics Assistant Official's Award (or Level 1) course. You can choose from Endurance, Field, Photo Finish, Starter/Starter's Assistant, Timekeeping and Track qualifications.
EAAC currently have 7 associated Officials. Brian Brown is one of our Officials, and has recently officiated the World Athletics Championships in Glasgow.

Parent Helpers
We are very lucky to have dedicated athletes that attend our training sessions and represent EAAC at competitions. We look to our parent and guardians for help where possible, whether helping out at training, driving hired mini buses, baking cakes or helping officials at competitions. If you think you have skills that would benefit the club please come and chat with us at training.
